How the Blackout System Works

In short it works like a roller blind, but with a fully sealed cassette and side guide system.

• Blackout material is rolled onto a tube inside an aluminium head cassette
• The cassette is fitted between the side walls or directly onto the window frame
• Side guide channels are fixed beneath the cassette and run down both sides
• An optional magnetic lower closing channel seals the bottom edge for 100% blackout

Simple Everyday Use

Using the blind is straightforward:

• Pull the handlebar down over the window
• The blind locks securely in place
• Gently ease the handlebar backwards to release
• The blind retracts smoothly into the cassette

Does this blackout blind block 100% of light?

Yes. When fully installed with the side guide channels and optional magnetic closing channel, the system blocks external light from all four sides of the window not just through the fabric. This creates a genuine total blackout environment.

Can I leave the window open with the blind fitted?

Yes. With optional intermediate clips, you can position the blind partially open to allow ventilation and controlled natural light while maintaining privacy, however we do not recommend leaving windows open when the blind is fully down.
