Sliding Solar Screen for Patio Doors (DIY Kit)

Are your rooms too hot in summer? Keep your Patio Door open, reduce heat and keep insects out with this highly effective Solar Screen.

This kit will make a high quality sliding solar screen for patio doors. Fitted with our tried and tested SunTex® mesh. These screens will block up to 80% of the sun’s heat and about 75% of the UV whilst allowing fresh air to flow into your room. And they stop those annoying insects as well.

The sliding panel glides effortlessly along the discrete ‘Z’ track to allow entry and exit through your door. Pile to the back of the screen provides a complete all round seal. Clips at the top of the panel allow it to be lifted out of the track for cleaning or storage in the cooler months

You can choose a White or Anthracite Grey frame and we also offer a colour coating service if you need to match a specific paint colour.

This screen represents a wise investment if you’re looking for a good long-term solution rather than a cheap short-term fix. The frames will last for many years and the mesh can be easily replaced if needed.

The kit is supplied with all necessary screen materials, fixings, a spline tool for fitting the mesh and a set of instructions. Most importantly - we are the end of the phone if you need some help.

Please note: To make this screen you will need to mitre-cut the aluminium frames using a mitre box and good hacksaw or preferably a mitre saw. Making also requires measuring, drilling, and screwing so we would not recommend this kit for DIY beginners. If DIY is not for you, we have a made to measure option which can be selected below.

How does this screen work?

The ‘Z’ tracks are fixed to the top and bottom of your door frame. The screen panel sits on the track and wheels allow the panel to roll/slide over the fixed pane when you wish to pass through the door.
